Our local Gliding club has a base at Nympsfield.
You can actually fly a glider from age 15, so next time your teenager mopes about saying that they're bored, suggest they go to 3000 Feet without an engine. They can either say yes, or stop whinging, which a result either way.
This video was made by a 15 year old Hong Kong girl who came across the BGGC while on holiday and had a go (I just found it on YouTube). Those tow launches have a serious WHEEEEEE factor, beats any kind of fairground ride....
Gliding is a really cheap hobby - it's a few pounds a flight. I tried it at Nympsfield a few years back and both loved it and got airsick (there was no horizion). I really really recommend giving it a go - if I hadn't gotten sick, I'd have done a lot more.

Our World Cup
This site built by Brockworth Enterprise School for the Football World Cup 2006, as a mixture of fan site and educational resource, (with teachers pack and lesson plans).
It was very popular so a Rugby one was added for 2007.
Hopefully this will be an ongoing work covering an event each year.
