This is for Community information and resources in and for Gloucester. Most are Gloucester or Gloucestershire based but we will include a few interesting but perhaps little known national ones.
Councils and other "official" or public bodies.
Brockworth Parish Council
Gloucester Crime Reduction
Gloucester Heritage URC - www.gloucesterurc.co.uk
Gloucestershire Association of Parish and Town Councils
Gloucestershire Criminal Justice Board
Race Equality Council
Gloucestershire Older Persons’ Assembly
Local Media
Radio, TV, papers, magazines, web sites and even blogs.
To qualify, must meet one of :-
For example - Forest of Dean radio counts, and so would Treadworth Monthly News, but Coleford Parish Website doesn't. This is because the audience for the Gloucester Likal is largely Gloucester People, and the site needs to stay focused. So wide area things can be included, but very local ones, outside the Gloucetser area, can't.
(If you want a Likal for your own area - Forest of Dean, Cotswolds, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury -, just contact us. It's free. All you need is confirmed support from a number of local groups and organisations and I'll build it for you).
www.toneradio.co.uk - student oriented radio station. I think it's the Uni Student Union station, but not sure.
National but Interesting
Organisations and groups that might be of interest to local people, even if not based here or with a branch here.
Galaxy Zoo
A chance to do real science!
Boys love this - it's a pattern matching game, it's space, and it's science.
I find that it keeps mine quiet, for a while, esp when it's raining, which it does a lot these days...
And if you find something special - you can have your name on it.
Politics
Political Parties, Individual Politicians and politically oriented campaign groups.
Individuals of historical note are under People&Places. (We'd love some biogs of ex MPs, and local politicians who made a difference).
Are you in Politics?
Contact us about using Likal to help get your message across.
We are not party political, and our view is that by granting politicians a platform for them to reach people, in their own words, we can help rebuild trust in politicians. Locally anyway.
Likal is just what you have all been asking for when you complain about how hard it is to get your message across when you have to go through the media.
Our Advice:-
This is free.
Party based information.
Parties can be listed if they meet one of the following criteria:-
UK Independence Party
Gloucester Politicians - these are people actively involved in politics.
It includes elected representatives, but also those who are not, provided they have some clear political role*.
*If you want to be listed here just let us know. We'll treat you as political if you can say yes to "are you a candidate, an active campaigner, or a "community leader", and have as the main focus of your activity fighting for people or for change". If you are mainly a community worker, or religious person who political involvement is incidental to your vocation, you should be listed under Gloucester Champions

Gloucester MEPs
ALL these MEPs represent us (and everyone else in the SouthWest). If you have an issue to raise it makes sense to contact whoever seems to be most interested in the issue, no matter where they live.
Giles Chichester
If you are Giles' webmaster and want to know why it doesn't show up here, it's because you have made it aggressive in that it loads on top and thus takes over the window. If you make it better behaved, I'll include it.
Parmjit Dhanda
Gloucester MP and (at September 2007) Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Children, Young People and Families.
For those in the suburbs that are part of Tewkesbury BC.
