British People and the FIRST Jet Engine - Gloster Whittle

TimeLine:
1941
Video (optional):

English people talking about when they saw the first Jet powered plane test flight.

Made by Frank Wittle and capable of 1000 lbf (4 kN) of thrust, it was fitted to a Gloster E28/39 airframe specially built for it, and first flew on May 15, 1941 from RAF Cranwell.

I don't think it flew from Brockworth - I believe they trucked it to the test airfield, but presumably the Meteors flew straight out of Brockworth to their bases
