Making Video - Tips

Making Video requires imagination, not money

Take a look at Eyes - which was made by Rizen Tablada at St Peter's Sixth Form Centre.

I asked him how he did it , (because it looked a damn sight more expensive than the gig footage that I personally do), and this was his response:-

"I used a Sony mini-DVD camera (DCRDVD105E model) and Sony Vegas 7 software for editing the film.

I'm not entirely sure on what you mean by how much I shot it for, but if I were to take into account expenditure for the travel, spendings on my school mates (who are the actors in my video), life Starbucks coffee, bus fairs and food; mini-DVDs, I'd say around £40.

well most of the video were shot in Gloucester park, the train station, my school, my house, inside a bus. Some of the scenes I shot during my road trips to different universities. Some were at special events like Children In Need. The last bit which was the shot of the clouds, I shot that when I wan in an airplane coming back from Spain.

I started shooting from late August but due to school works I finished filming in early February. "

So, as you can see, if you can beg/borrow a camera (though as of today, that camera is listed at £225, new, from Amazon UK), all you need is imagination. (I looked up the software and as of today, Amazon sell it for about 150 quid. But that's a one off to cover all your vids). I'd also note that if you start by doing music vids, like Eyes, you don't need to worry about sound/mics etc.
