Passion, life and colour layered with deep meaning

Our March exhibition encompasses passion, life and colour layered with deep meaning
and laced throughout with painful association and memories. Everything culminates in a
journey on which we are invited to accompany Karen James as she charts the highs and
lows of becoming an artist, discovering that there is no gain without pain.

Karen was born in Gloucester and trained at Cheltenham in design and embroidery. A member of Gloucester Artists’ Network (GANet), she now works with textiles and colour, creating scarves, fashion accessories, wall hangings and mobiles for individuals who admire fine craftsmanship and originality.

Her most high-profile fan is John Travolta, for whom she created a Hairspray scarf.
The exhibition will run in the main gallery from 5th to 31st March. On Wednesday 10th March there will be a private view from 6 - 7.30pm when Karen will be on hand to answer questions.
